The Terran Myth: What You can expect!

As we began our journey several months ago into the TMU (Terran Myth Universe) through the thriving “Keys To The Universe,” I never really gave you a good picture of what the landscape looks like. To be more accurate the “space-space.”

Let’s give you the scale I’m working on:

Experts estimate that there are between 200-400 billion stars (not planets) just in our single galaxy alone . Some believe that we can easily have closer to a trillion. They also believe there is, at the very least, 100 billion solar systems (a collection of planets orbiting around a star) within our galaxy. Based on the numbers and odds experts believe that 40 billion of those planets are esitmated to be already “earth like,” with 11 billion orbiting stars like our own.  Meaning if we had a way to transverse space then we can easily find new real-estate amongst the stars.

Just so you are aware, I chose to go with 400 billion- go big Or go home, right? As well as sticking with the estimated 40 billions earth like planets.

 Now!

Imagine with me if you please, a future so vast and old that no planet has gone unclaimed. The human population has climbed to unfathomable amounts as it spread to the hundreds of billions of stars within our galaxy.

Terra-forming uninhabital planets (to make earth like) has become an ancient form after being in use for millenniums. To us, it would be like the art of growing great crops or other farmlands. It’s been mastered, stream-lined, and by this point, broken down into hundreds of privately operated proprietorships.

Space travel, by this time, is nothing special or unique. It is nothing more  than if you or I went to our nearest airport and caught a flight to another country. It’s commercialized, it’s privatized and it’s “nothing new,” to the current generations.

There are millions of different technologically developed societies; many live for peace and many lust for war. However technology, like nuclear weapons are today, is regulated heavily by the superior forces that controlled them in the beginning. The superior Big Ten (the 10 largest super powers in the galaxy- which I’ll cover at a later date) insure there is a clear technological gap between factions in order to protect their own interest and to keep the balance of power even between its small neighbors. (Which superpowers currently do today.)

The hardest part about going out on a scale this massive is culture. So to put it straight; money makes the galaxy go round. The more money one had, the more strength it has and with it either peace of war can unfold.

If you want to know more about these tech gaps visit my post on the Tier system that divides civilizations in the TMU. Which can be viewed at Keys To The Universe – Tier I

The story will describe things that will further fill in the details of TMU as it relates to events happening within the story.

Now that pretty much sums up the general idea of the TMU, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Or even offer suggestions of things that could be seen in the future.

Terran Myth Update (May 2015)

Posting on a holiday usually never leads to anything good. That is why yesterday a post pretty much slid by unnoticed. Which was My fault.

Terran Myth Book 1 Status: Completed all Writing; Currently Typing and editing. BASICALLY IT IS FINISHED! *fist pump in triumph*

This was quicker to achieve than I expected. It was easier since I started the very unhealthy use of caffeine on days I designate as writing days. So let me be your test subject to show you it doesn’t kill you in the end. (Sarcasm)

I’ll be vanishing for 2 weeks this Friday, to conduct annual training and then I’ll return with hopefully the first half of book 2 written out!

Unfortunately, since I’ll be in the woods sleeping most of my nights, I won’t be able to type out the remainder of book one. So don’t bail out on me! We’ve made it this far. Let’s finish it!

As a tribute to this milestone, I will release a section of the first chapter on here, once the entire book is finished being typed and edited, as best as it can be. As well a special offer will be announce once the coverart is finished.

On a side note; this will be my first book selfpublished, (shooting to eventually get on with a real publisher- no rush there) but I want your feed back! As much negative and good feed back as you can force my way before you tire out.

Keep a look out for the new TMU features to come!

Stay tuned my friends! I appreciate all your support.

Why not another one… Tribute! FrontLines Series by Marko Kloos

Well… Well… Well, look who we have here. Good to see you made your decision towards your new life. You have just graduated from slim, to kid.

Now sit back, relax.. Kick your feet up and tell me about it.

Oh, you prefer to stand? I see the military has shit kicked some discipline in you. Maybe you might be more than a kid. Hmmmm we’ll see.

So you wanted to be a spacer; a marine, but you got placed in the Territorial Army? Kid, I hope you know that’s where the real soldiers go. That’s where you’ll find the real meaning of ground pounding. Besides that we have The shifting dirt, the fresh unrecycled air, and the very predictable weather patterns; you just can’t beat it having all that in your favor. Up there, in space, on terraformed/terraforming colonies, you get what you get and most of the time it is playing soldier and organized skirmishes.

Hmmmm… What’s that noise there in your pocket?… call to arms? ….Ah… Which PRC?

Oh… Detroit.. Well then I guess this ends our chat for today. The next time I see you, I predict you’ll be made into man. I’ll see you soon kid.. Stay safe.

——————————————————–

This is just me being over fan-bitious.

I’ll do one more to close out book one, but I think that’s all I’ll do. If you want to know more about the books and/or the author. Follow this link to his website Marko Kloos Website (http://www.munchkinwrangler.com/terms-of-enlistment/)

As always, stay tuned!

Book Series Tribute: FrontLines by Marko Kloos

Ask yourself one question; if you could be anything in another life, what would it be? Wait, don’t tell me. Let’s add in some very defining attributes to your life.

You’re poor; you live in government welfare housing with hundreds of thousands if not millions of people. Adding more salt to the wound that is  your life, you are forced to live off government issued Calorie rations, meal to meal; Everyday. Not to mention if your neighborhood doesn’t fall in line with the laws, the government can and will cut off food, water, or electricity. You know, since you are living in “their city.” Besides all this, there are an abundance of criminal gangs roaming the street; mostly trying to take anything everyone else has.

So let’s recap, you’re dirt poor, your sole dependency is on a government that finds you very expendable and your neighbors would rather rob you at gun point than help you.. Your alternate life sounds fantastic.

So I’ll ask you again, if you could be anything in this life, what would it be?

Wait.. wait.. Wait.. I almost forgot. You’re only way out is joining the military.

Yeah I know, limits your options.

Sounds easy right? … Well I’ll just stop you right there and inform you that you might just be S.O.L. The military actually discourages you from serving.

I know I know; that’s complete nonsense, because if you walk outside right now you’ll probably be bombarded by recruiters. Well slim, in this new life, the recruiters sit back and think of new ways to turn people away from this prestigious military.

I can tell that our minds have clicked during this conversation and I now have second thoughts. I won’t ask you what you would be in the new life. What I should ask you is, could you even survive this new life?

Oh, you think you could? Well slim.. Good luck!

As always stay tuned!

Book Recommendation: Fortunes Pawn

Not the usual type of military SF I’m use too, but Fortunes Pawn was a very good venture off the beaten path. Yes, it is listed as military SF on goodreads but it lacks the actual military appeal as most would. However it has hints of it in there. It was fun to read.

You are following the protagonist Devi Morris (Ms. Morris) as she takes on a security position (which she normally hates) on the infamous “Glorious Fool.” The ship crew is filled with a diverse selection of Humans. The ship is also full of secrets that are worth killing for. The average mercenary last just under one tour of duty on the Glorious Fool. Ms. Morris plans to see her contract all the way to the end in order to receive her wish to join one of the most elite forces in the universe, The Devastators.

Book Recommendation! Atlas 2

The second most impressive modern military science fiction novel to hit the shelves or at least the audio book shelves.

You are following from the perspective of the two main characters from the first novel who have now split. It was a wonderful surprise as was the first.

Rade or as his call sign goes “Rage” is a broken hearted member of the worlds most elite force known as the “Moths.” They make the “special forces seem like Girl Scouts,” as it says in one or two parts.

Rage is a distraught individual due to the lost of his childhood friend; both grew up together as orphans. To add on to his already battered mind, the love of his life, who Rage believes is dead, is actually alive and surviving on her own.

This story is vivid and well thought out. I recommend all who like MSF to jump in and get you in on some Moth Action in an Alas! Well at least imagine it.

Rogue Intelligence Update!

So I drifted off to check on my ghost writer! The story has come along well. A few touches up here and there will be needed but thus far I enjoyed it.

To me the ending is everything, it is the last thing you leave the readers with. I want to leave you all with either one of two feelings. The first being a modest “wow” factor or the other leaving you upset and craving for more.

Both thoroughly please me! So feel free to express both when needed. EPD the end of January!

Stay tuned tomorrow for what I find to be some of the greatest concepts of writing.

Keys to the Universe “Tireh Defense Force”

As usual! Welcome my friends to another feature from the Terran Myth Universe, or the TMU.

Origins:
Following this is an continuation from the original posts’. Tireh – Part 1, Tireh – Part 2

On this post I will cover the almost lost elements that I forgot to publish weeks ago.

The Tireh Defense Force Options:
Or in a general summary their Mercenary Department.

Years after the creation of their accelerated cloning program, The Tireh quickly found themselves with a vast surplus of clone soldiers. In response to wasting resources on servicemen not serving the Tireh began including a defense package option for the faction or factions that purchased their gates. This was the furthest they were willing to go into the mercenary type of businesses in regards to regional conflicts between lawfully accepted factions.

Lawfully accepted means that they are accepted to be a legitimate government. Not pirates or large criminal forces.

The Defense Force package was a great success, most Tireh “mercenaries” focused on local defense of the systems that homed any of the Tireh Jump Gates.

The Defense force was expanded to include its ability to act as a Disaster aid force and as a peace keeper against pirates (when requested) for defensiveless solar systems.

The Tireh would go on to create its own task forces within the Defense force to contract for these options. Becoming one of the largest military powers in the galaxy to own the smallest amount of territory.

Stay tuned for a continuation of the TDF!

Keys to the Universe “Upcoming Post”

Following this is an excerpt from the original posts. Tireh – Part 1, Tireh – Part 2

Their Defense Force Options:
“Due to their vast Network of gates, the total unknown, the Tireh had to look for unconventional ways to supply its need for a military. Their governing body felt they needed to be able respond to threats, defend their gates and patrol any number of systems, without spreading their resource to thin.

Their answer came to this predicament by the creations of an accelerated cloning program, which would offer them countless of service personnel to meet their needs. As long as they could supply them.

They eventually had over whelming number of clone servicemen in their fleet, and vast amounts of warships with no assigned duties. So the Tireh then created another business, and it was almost mercenary in its method of operation. It also was Subjected to a lot more restrictions than a normal mercenary business. The Tireh took to supply the option of a Defense Force to parties that purchased gates from them. It became a major success.”

Following this post will be the indeptt post!

Keys to the universe is where you find out the “know” for The Terran Myth Universe.

Rogue Intelligence 3rd update

I decided to check in with my “ghost” to see how the story was coming along. Finally I can say a lot of much needed progress has been made!

The characters names maybe released earlier or just some creative back grounds, like the Keys to the Universe.

Which if you are out of the loop, the Keys to the Universe is the “in the know” from what you won’t get to know by reading the novel “Terran Myth: Book 1” EPD January 2015.

The short story for rogue intelligence is a fun newishly developed idea that I mention a month ago. It may eventually have 2 more features after it to combine for a novel or a novella.

January can’t get here any sooner!
